Mike Barela, brings 19 years of AEC Marketing experience to the table. He attributes his high win-rate in proposals and interviews to a combination of hard work and surrounding himself with people who make good teammates, mentors and teachers.

Mike is a hands-on and flexible leader who jumps in to do whatever it takes to make the client successful. Whether he is writing or taking more of a strategic or tactical role, Mike is comfortable taking the bull by the horns to manage projects effectively.

He grew through the ranks of AEC Marketing with an entry-level opportunity as a Proposal Specialist for one of the largest infrastructure firms around, and rose to the level of Marketing Communications Manager, reporting directly to the business unit president.

From there, he’s worked directly for companies such as: Stantec, OZ Architecture, PCL Construction, WSP, Kiewit and GH Phipps Construction. His consulting clients run the gamut, from small construction subconsultants, to large engineering firms.

Nowadays, Mike spends his professional energies looking for ways to put people to work through Muster Pointe Marketing. Whether it is the AEC professionals he surrounds himself with, or the client’s next big win, he always brings it back to the basics in his winning ways.

Mike is known to spend his winter weekends skiing and snowboarding. He is always willing to share cake decorating tips, or a good dad joke if asked.
